Now onto one of my favourite past times - water-colouring.
Today I have a quick water colour project for you that is suitable for a variety of occasions.

I've used one of the images from Stampin' Up's! Floral Statements stamp set - a set that I fell in love with the minute I saw it in the Annual Catalogue (p163).

I stamped the image in Archival black onto Water Colour Paper then painted in the colour with an Aqua Painter. The ink colours  are from the IN COLOR Range currently available - I used Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig from the In Colors, plus Old Olive and Crushed Curry.

It is easy to get some of the ink onto the inside top of the ink pad, simply by pressing from the back of the ink pad when it is closed. The back of the ink pad is more flexible and will give you a nice little patch of colour that you can use as your palette.

I love to layer colour and always start with the lightest. In this case it was Sweet Sugarplum that I diluted with water. Then just add layers of other colours leaving some areas of the Sweet Sugarplum to show through.

The finished card: simple but effective.

The card looked a little bare, so I added a few Glitter Enamel Dots. They have a lovely sheen but are not too sparkly (can there be such a thing?) It is then framed in Black and matted onto a Sweet Sugarplum card base.

Hope you like it.

If you would like to order any of the products needed to create this card, you might be interested to know about my monthly Host Code. It works like this:
