Coming Home Card

Hello again Stampin' friends.

Today I have a card using the Coming Home stamps by Stampin' Up! and the Home Together coordinating dies.

There is a little story behind this card - recently we bought a beach house for family holidays - something I've wanted to do for many years. I found just the right one for us and fortunately, with the help of a lovely real estate agent, negotiations were completed to our satisfaction.  I loved the Coming Home stamp set when I first saw it, and I thought it would be appropriate for a card.

Our beach house is on a cliff front overlooking the ocean, and I wanted the card to reflect that, so I added some waves using a retired Stampin' Up! embossing folder.

I stamped all the images with Memento ink and coloured them with Stampin' Blends. The images were then die cut with the coordinating Home Together dies.

It is fun to "build" a little village using the houses and trees and I added layers by overlapping and raising the images with Dimensionals.

The front of the card is cut so the back-ground Designer Series Paper shows through. That means if you layer the houses above the horizon line, you will need to use some sort of method to cover them on the inside of the card.

I decided to simply stamp and colour some more houses and trees.

It was so much fun creating this card and it shows how you can use this stamp set for more than just Christmas cards.

All the products are listed below, so if you would like to purchase any of them, and you live in Australia, you are welcome to select the image and it will take you directly to my On-Line shop. Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop - One Stamp Three Ways

Hello, and welcome to another Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop.
This week we have the task of sharing how we can use one stamp in 3 different ways.
I love colouring so thought I'd show you 3 ways of colouring a fun stamp set named "From All Of Us". The creatures in this set are very cute and have an almost cartoon character so this gives scope to interpret and colour any way you wish.

The first card is uses a water colour technique with Stampin' Up! classic inks and an Aqua Painter on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I love the speed and watery effects that can be obtained with this technique, and it never bothers me that sometimes I go over the lines or the colours run a little.

You can see the  uninhibited colouring in the detail photo, but it is the effects in the background that I enjoy the most.

The second technique I used is colouring with Stampin' Write Markers. This is a much more controlled technique that is suitable for younger children. As you can see I chose just a couple of Neutral colours, focusing on Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray. I used one of the beautifully texture inspired pattern papers from the In Good Taste Paper Stack as the background.

It is more difficult to get a flat colour using the Markers, but I find if you colour in one direction (horizontally) first then go over the same area colouring the other direction (vertically) then the area achieves a nearly flat effect. I did want this one to be more graphic and 2-D . The little red heart adds a pop of colour to brighten up the card.

The final card took the most time and is coloured with Stampin' Blends. The bright colours work well for this card which is suitable for a child's birthday.
Remember to use Memento ink when colouring with the alcohol Blends. This will stop the outline from smudging.

I've stamped a branch image and cut it out to thread through the monkey's hands. This adds a little texture to the card. I don't usually mat images on an angle but this one looked so much better crooked!

And here are the 3 cards together showing you how different the same stamp can look depending on how you treat it and what technique you employ.

There are too many products used  to list them all, so if you want further information on any of the cards, just make a comment and I'll get back to you.
You can shop for the stamp set # 152641 and all the other products in my On-line store

Animal Outing: Interactive Slider Card For Jett

Just a quick post today featuring a card I made for a special little boy who is going through a tough time at present. He loves to receive cards so I'm hoping this interactive card will keep him amused for a while.

I wanted the card to be bright, so I used some of the beautiful See A Silhouette Designer Series paper for the background and stamped some grasses and dragon flies from the Friend Like You stamp set, using Memento Black ink directly onto the paper.

The kangaroo and koala are from the Animal Outing Bundle that includes dies. I've coloured this image with Stampin' Blends - a quick and easy way to colour and blend in order to achieve a bit of dimension in the image.

The mechanism for the slider is created with two washers joined together with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Signs Of Santa Cards

Signs of Santa - such a fun little stamp set by Stampin' Up!
The cute figures are so easy to colour and they cut out perfectly with the coordinating framelits, that can be purchase for a saving of 10% when buying the stamps and framelits together.

I made 4 different cards for class, and here are 2 of them.

The characters are coloured with Stampin' Blends - alcohol based markers that give a beautiful flat area of colour when you want to achieve that effect. You can also create a blended effect by using the dark and the light Blend of any of the specific Stampin' Up! colours available.

It is lots of fun to stamp and cut out a lot of these cute characters and arrange them on cards to create scenes. The Signs of Santa  set is really fun for children and allows them to use their creativity when designing their own "scene".

These cards also used the coordinating Designer Series Papers - Santa's Workshop Specialty DSP. You can find all the products in the Holiday Catalogue.

You can purchase any of these supplies through my On-line Store or for quick ordering simply select the image that you want from the list below. Add the October Host code:
