MMSC#72

I'm determined to make my card for this challenge on time this week. Things got the better of me last week and I was late, but ... not this week.  The sketch is a lovely one and allows for a vast array of interpretation.

It is Floriade time here in Canberra- a celebration of spring. Our family went in for the last night of Night Fest tonight and we enjoyed the beautiful, vast beds of bulbs and flowers, the artistic and entertaining lighting and just the fun of a community enjoying itself while looking at the wonders of nature. Of course that inspired me to come home and make this card! So even tho' I had great intentions I am just making this challenge by the skin of my teeth!

I am really enjoying the technique of colouring an embossing folder by swiping an ink pad across it before the paper is embossed. It gives you a lovely 2 toned effect and I thought it would go well with what I had in mind for this card.

I'm a bit of a pink girl at heart, and couldn't resist using Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede for this card. There are a couple of highlights of Pixie Pink on the flowers. I coloured the centre flower with a blender pen and classic inks.

Stampin' Up!® products I've used are:
Stamp Set: Friends Never Fade.
Card Stock: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Crumb Cake.
Classic Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pixie Pink, Soft Suede.
Sizzix/Stampin' Up! Big Shot - Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Sizzzlits "Little Leaves" die, Scallop Oval die
Basic Pearls, Stampin' sponges, Pink Pirouette striped ribbon (retired)

The photos are a little dark, but the colours are fairly true. Hope you like this card 'cause I sure enjoyed making it.
