Dry Embossing and Pastels Together

I know it's been a while since my last post, but the holiday in Bali made me so relaxed it has been a bit of a catch up week. Our daughter's wedding was beautiful and we all had so much fun catching up with family and friends from around the world.

I've had a couple of workshops since arriving home and one of them was a Technique Class for creating various backgrounds using a variety of media. The card I have to show you today uses Stampin Up pastels to colour the background stamp "Bella Toile". The flowers and flourishes are gorgeous and lots of different results can be achieved simply by changing the selection of pastels  used. I've used Perfect Plum, along with a couple of different shades of pink, and a touch of Not Quite Navy.

I've also used the beautiful "Vintage Wallpaper" Embossing  folder (exclusive to Stampin' Up!®) that I ran through the Big Shot. The flowers are from the "Vintage Vogue" stamp set, and the leaves and flourish are Big Shot Sizzlits dies.  I've added a touch of pastel around the edges of the embossed frame, and sponged the edge of the greeting with ink.

This detail shot shows one of the gorgeous brads from the new "Antique Brads" range from Stampin' Up! plus the intricate detail of the script on the flower stamp.

And isn't the style of this greeting stamp beautiful? I love the little swirls and how they mirror the shapes in the corner flourish. This comes from a stamp set called "Curly Cute".

I am entering this card in some challenges including:
