Mini Flip Album - Christmas Theme

Hi folks,

I've just finished this flip album and am quite thrilled as I've managed to use up quite a bit of retired stock. I think this will be a gift for someone in my family this year, but I want to share some of the fun techniques I used and some of the pages that worked quite well.

Here is the album cover.

Lots of techniques used here: Die cutting with the Big Shot, punching borders with Stampin' Up!® Scallop Trim Border punch, faux stitching free hand with my Stampin' Write Marker, and Faux Metal with gold emboss powder. I adore this technique and find it so handy to be able to make my own metallic tags. You can see it a bit better in the detail shot.

I am entering this project into the following challenges:
So.... let's turn the first page.

I used my Stamp A Majig to do the 2 step stamping on the roses and leaves, and then added extra layers of colour with an Aqua Painter and some slightly different toned inks.

All the blank areas are for photos of the family Christmas gathering. We always have lots of family at our home on Christmas day and it is usually a day where we eat too much but really enjoy each others company. Next page!

You can see from this photo just how all the pages open out, and out! I tried to create pages that complimented each other no matter which order the pages were opened. I think most work OK.

As I love my stamping, I've used plenty of stamping techniques throughout the mini album. This stamp is from the fabulous "Notably Ornate" stamp set from Stampin' Up!  It's so "Vintage" but works super well on so many projects.

These pages showcase lots of Sizzlits dies. They are excellent for embellishments, and save loads of cutting time. You can see information about the Big Shot in my side bar.

Some more "Faux Metal".  Told you I love that technique! And doesn't it go well with these traditional Christmas colours? I've rubbed some of the Pomegranate ink over the gold embossed shape to tone it down a little. Well, I hope you enjoy this album and it inspires you to make some hand crafted Christmas gifts.

I am doing classes all this month on these and they are really popular. You can contact me if you'd like further information.
