Stampin Up A Slice of Cake Gift Box

Mmmm! Fresh cake - beautifully decorated and never going stale.
That is the best way to have cake.

I made this lovely slice while in Darwin recently, and as I only had limited supplies with me, I thought it may turn out a little plain. But I do like the restricted colour range!

I used Pretty In Pink and Bravo Burgundy card stock for this project. The cake slice pattern was printed onto the Pink using my computer printer, and I traced around the relevant part to create the "icing" on Burgundy card.

The decorations  on the base and the Pink flowers are all stamped with Bravo Burgundy Classic Ink then hand cut and sponged.

Stamp sets are from Stampin' Up!:-
Creative Elements
French Foliage

These are 2 of my favourite sets from the 2011 - 2012  Idea Book and Catalogue.

The large White flower is hand made from 4 Scallop Circle shapes that have been distressed and split. The petals of the flower were sponged with Stampin' Up! Classic Bravo Burgundy Ink after it was constructed.

The Pink flowers were stamped 3 times then cut into layers - this gives some lovely dimension to the flower.

And I did a FIRST on this project - I used some Kindy Glitz! I've always shied away from using that, but the bold gold on the braid demanded to be repeated elsewhere and that is what worked best. I actually quite like it for this project

Pearls are from Stampin' Up!'s Basic Jewels - Pearls

I mentioned in the title that this is a Gift Box. That is true - the back of the box opens so that some choccies or other small gift can easily be placed inside.

Just a short post tonight -

So Until Next Time,

Stay Crafty
