October Scrap Map With Stampin' Up!

I really enjoy my Scrap Classes and this month the scrap map was a sketch for 3 or 4 photos. I love my Stampin' Up!® papers and because they are double sided it makes it very easy to coordinate patterns and colours. So for October I decided to focus on patterns and papers.

I hardly ever end up with a page that is true to the scrap map, but it is only there as a guide and for inspiration to the girls.

Here is my completed page! Yes I actually completed a page before the class.

I had the pleasure of babysitting my 2 grandchildren while their parents went to a wedding (for 4 days) and with our current beautiful Spring weather I thought it would be good to get them outside for a while. The little one decided it was a great opportunity to explore!

This detail shows how a variety of patterns can be used in tones of the one colour. I picked out the colours of Kenzie's clothing and hat. The edging was created with Stampin' Up!'s SCALLOP TRIM BORDER PUNCH.  I also used the SCALLOP TRIM CORNER  punch to get a perfect corner.

The title is made using the new TYPESET ALPHABET BIGZ  die set that has been dry embossed with another new product from Stampin' Up! - the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - LACY BROCADE.  (You can find that on p. 6 of the HOLIDAY CATALOGUE )

Did you  notice the lovely edge under the "faux ribbon"? That is created with another new product from Stampin' Up! - the FINISHING TOUCHES EDGELITS.  I'm loving that one!
The little heart is from the new FASHIONABLE HEARTS EMBOSSLITS  set- so time saving when you can cut and emboss at the same time, and the butterfly is punched with the new ELEGANT BUTTERFLY punch.

There are so many gorgeous new products in the 2 current catalogues that you really must check them out.

I made the roses from 2 different sized SCALLOPED CIRCLE PUNCHES and love the fact that you can make any colour and sponge or spritz these little beauties to suit the colours and other embellishment on your pages.

If you'd like further information on any of the techniques or Stampin' Up! products used in this project, please contact me via my Demonstrator Business Website. I'm always happy to share information.

That's all for tonight so,

Framelits are Fun

Some of Stampin' Up!'s newest products are the Framelits dies. They are fantastic to use and show you exactly where they are cutting as there is no room for error when cutting out frames. What you see is what you get!

I had the honour of demonstrating how to use Framelits at the recent South Pacific Convention and enjoyed playing with them to make a Mini Album, frames for photos, 3-D items etc, but what I enjoyed most of all is the versatility of being able to cut, colour, emboss, pretty much however you choose. So much fun.

I've made a couple of cards since Convention showing off the combination of Framelits - Labels Collection with a purpose made stamp set from Stampin' Up! named Apothecary Art.
Here is the first card.

I used a combination of Designer Series Papers: Beau Chateau and Attic Boutique, some lovely Chrochet  Trim - Victoria, a brad from the beautiful Antique Collection, and a flower from my pre Stampin' Up! days stash.

I've used an Edgelit and coordinating embossing folder for the shaped edges at the base of the card. The crochet trim is attached by a strip of Sticky Strip and is kept flat behind the image and folded randomly where it is visible. A little Linen Thread is tied around the brad for a final Vintage touch.

The detail photo shows how easy it is to use just one colour for the image and still achieve great results. I applied the colour with an Aqua Painter, but you can easily use a Blender Pen if you hesitate to try water-colouring.

The greeting is from Stampin' Up's Curly Cute stamp set and I've sponged the edges of most parts of the card stock with Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Pink Pirouette.

These cards are fun and quick to make. The papers make great backgrounds and as Stampin' Up! has such a wonderful range of coordinating products, it is easy to ensure that ink colours match card stock and patterned papers.

Contact me if you'd like further information about the Framelits, Edgelits and coordinating products, or if you would like to order any of these products. They can be mailed directly to you (Australian residents only) but need to be purchased through an Independent Demonstrator.

Next I have a different card using the same Designer Series Paper Pack - Beau Chateau, same Labels Collection Framelit and the Apothecary Art Stamp set, just changing the ribbon to White Satin and adding some of the gorgeous Pearls from the Basic Jewels Collection.

I hope you'll give these new products a try and will enjoy the many creations you'll be able to make.

Until Next Time,

Holiday Lineup for Christmas Stamp A Stack

It's always nice to have a bit of humour and when I first saw the HOLIDAY LINEUP  stamp set from Stampin' Up, I thought "What a fun set of stamps". I've used each of them for this set of 3 cards in the April Christmas Stamp A Stack , and kept the colours to a minimum.

RED
BLACK
WHITE
What could be more basic?

Here are the cards and as you can see, quite a bit of variety can be achieved using a limited pallet.

I've hand drawn the border twice using a BLACK Stampin' Write Marker and filled it in with the REAL RED MARKER. Then I selected a few highlight areas to colour in Red and added the postage stamp and snowflake stamps from the WINTER POST  stamp set.
The beautiful  edge to the WHISPER WHITE  card is achieved with one of Stampin' Up!'s new releases from the AUTUMN/WINTER MINI CATALOGUE (select the catalogue to view it's contents)

Stampin' Up! have given us some EDGELITS DIES - wonderful little cutters that cut exactly where you want them to!
And not only do you get one in the pack but a second delightfully shaped edge that I've used on the next card.

This last card uses a retired background stamp named SANDED. I loved this and was sad to see it discontinued, but there are so many wonderful stamps in the Idea Book & Catalogue
that some of the old favs have to make way for new and exciting sets.

The gorgeous greeting is from the HEARD FROM THE HEART stamp set.

That's all for Christmas until June. I'll be away for most of May so no classes!

Until Next time
