Scrap Page Embellishments With To A Wild Rose Bundle

Scrap book pages can be works of art. They are created with love and are lasting reminders of events in our lives. I have used "To A Wild Rose" stamp set by Stampin' Up! to create the main embellishments for this page.

Each month I hold a scrap class where I provide a scrap map and a number of suggestions for the participants to create around that map. This month we were tasked to use one of the many beautiful Designer Series Papers that Stampin' Up! has provided in the 2019 - 20 Annual Catalogue.

I chose one of the gorgeous papers from the Perennial Essence pack. I love the colours and the homage to Monet in these designs, and the paper colours worked perfectly with my photo.

Along with the To A Wild Rose images I used First Frost and dies from the Flourish die set. It's great when you have a selection of dies and images to choose from and with Stampin' Up! you can be sure to find something that coordinates really well.

I finished off the design with a large "M" the first letter of this little one's name. I cut this with the Large Letter Framelits - cutting the M 4 times and adhering one on top of the other to make it sturdy. The M was cut in Purple Posy card stock and enhanced with Wink of Stella glitter pen.

If you don't have a lot of time and still love to create scrap pages, you might think about using some of the beautiful Stampin' Up! Designer Series papers as a base. There is a huge variety to choose from and you can see all of them at my on-line store. If you live in Australia and would like to purchase products  you are most welcome to do so via my store.

Simple Christmas Scrap Page Layout

I host a scrap page layout class once a month and thoroughly enjoy combing my Stampin' Up! products to create visually pleasing pages.

The February class focused on a Christmas Layout and I wanted to keep it simple and fairly quick to create. Of course the best product to use when keeping things simple, is the Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. I love how it coordinates with all the other Stampin' Up! products like card stock, Alcohol Markers - Stampin' Blends - ribbons, and other accessories.

The fact that Stampin' Up! has so many coordinating products is a real bonus, and is one of the many reasons that I love these products.

The first photo shows a detail of the gorgeous  "Joyous Noel Specialty DSP" combined with Copper Foil paper that has been dry embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing folder, and Cherry Cobbler A4 and 12 x 12 card stock.

Beautiful Baubles is the name of the stamp set used to create the bauble embellishments. I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Copper Embossing powder, then coloured the images with Stampin' Blends.
You can also see the texture achieved by embossing some Whisper White card stock using the Softly Falling Embossing folder.

Stampin' Blends come in a wide variety of colours that coordinate with all the Stampin' Up! ink pads and card stock. I have used Cherry Cobbler (dark and light) and Shaded Spruce (dark) for colouring. I love how smoothly the colour goes onto the card, making it quick to get the colouring complete.

The final layout just waiting for the right photo. I'm always slow at getting my photos printed and this year it was a very quiet Christmas with just the 2 of us and one daughter - no grandchildren as they were all overseas with their parents.

Some of the products used in this layout are now retired, but feel free to contact me if you'd like more information.

Until Next Time

Flower Fun on Scrap Pages

Today I have another scrap page featuring flowers and dry embossing and staring the gorgeous Miss MacKenzie.

A variety of flowers from my stash plus Butterflies, stamped and punched with Stampin' Up!® images and punches make up the cluster at the bottom Right corner.

As the photos document some playtime in my garden with my grand daughter I thought it appropriate to include some floral decoration else where on the page. I used vellum for the top layer of the butterflies so dry embossed some vellum with the ELEGANT BOUQUET FOLDER and used one of the PAPER DOILIES to create interest.
Colours used: RICH RAZZLEBERRY, GARDEN GREEN, WHISPER WHITE  and some retired PALE PLUM

You can now order any of these products directly from me on-line via my website on-line shopping
And you will have the chance to win $50 of product if you use the current Hostess Code

This was a very quick and easy page - I just need to add some notes about the event - we often spend time out in the garden on our "Mondays" and it's fun to teach her about leaves and flowers and spiders and bugs.

Just a quick post today, so....

Until Next time

You're Never Too Old For Disney World

What fun memories I have of our 40th Wedding Anniversary last year, when the family joined us on a cruise of the Caribbean and then a few days at Disney World Florida. I'd love to go back there again as we did not get to see everything, and it is great fun being a kid again, or at least seeing things through kids eyes. Our 4 year old grandson loved it.

Today's scrap page uses lots of products from Stampin' Up! Some current, some retired and it just goes to show how wonderful the Stampin' Up! system of coordinating products is. You can continue to use old products next to new ones, knowing that the core colours are always going to match.

You'll find some of the items I used in the new Seasonal Catalogue:
HONEYCOMB Textured Impressions Embossing folder.  (p. 6)
DESIGNER BUILDER BRADS (p. 12) -  these are just too gorgeous, and work wonderfully with the ITTY BITTIES  stamp set on page 25 of the Seasonal Catalogue

I created my own textured background on the Pool Party card stock, by stamping with Pool Party ink and using one of the retired background stamps. The edges were then sponged with a little Soft Suede ink

Just a quick post today - my head is full of ideas and I want to try some of them.

Until next time

October Scrap Map With Stampin' Up!

I really enjoy my Scrap Classes and this month the scrap map was a sketch for 3 or 4 photos. I love my Stampin' Up!® papers and because they are double sided it makes it very easy to coordinate patterns and colours. So for October I decided to focus on patterns and papers.

I hardly ever end up with a page that is true to the scrap map, but it is only there as a guide and for inspiration to the girls.

Here is my completed page! Yes I actually completed a page before the class.

I had the pleasure of babysitting my 2 grandchildren while their parents went to a wedding (for 4 days) and with our current beautiful Spring weather I thought it would be good to get them outside for a while. The little one decided it was a great opportunity to explore!

This detail shows how a variety of patterns can be used in tones of the one colour. I picked out the colours of Kenzie's clothing and hat. The edging was created with Stampin' Up!'s SCALLOP TRIM BORDER PUNCH.  I also used the SCALLOP TRIM CORNER  punch to get a perfect corner.

The title is made using the new TYPESET ALPHABET BIGZ  die set that has been dry embossed with another new product from Stampin' Up! - the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - LACY BROCADE.  (You can find that on p. 6 of the HOLIDAY CATALOGUE )

Did you  notice the lovely edge under the "faux ribbon"? That is created with another new product from Stampin' Up! - the FINISHING TOUCHES EDGELITS.  I'm loving that one!
The little heart is from the new FASHIONABLE HEARTS EMBOSSLITS  set- so time saving when you can cut and emboss at the same time, and the butterfly is punched with the new ELEGANT BUTTERFLY punch.

There are so many gorgeous new products in the 2 current catalogues that you really must check them out.

I made the roses from 2 different sized SCALLOPED CIRCLE PUNCHES and love the fact that you can make any colour and sponge or spritz these little beauties to suit the colours and other embellishment on your pages.

If you'd like further information on any of the techniques or Stampin' Up! products used in this project, please contact me via my Demonstrator Business Website. I'm always happy to share information.

That's all for tonight so,

Sweet Angel Scrap Page

Tonight I have a scrap page that was one of the projects prepared for my Christmas In July event last weekend. Actually my sister Linda created the page from a map that I designed and it was amazing to see the various ways this inspiration took the 10 guests at the event.

But before I show the Angel Scrap Page to you I thought you'd like to see the Lolly Bar that my daughter set up for us.

Yum!

And here is the scrap page featuring my little angel grand daughter.

I wanted to show case the lovely ELEGANT BIRD die and the BIG SHOT, and as we were using that for other ornaments I decided to use the wings as Angel Wings. The card stock is adhered to the very sticky STICKY SHEET  before passing through the Big Shot. Then the second layer is peeled off and the wings are dipped into a bowl of CHAMPAGNE STAMPIN' GLASS GLITTER.

The background is created quickly using one of the gorgeous papers from MOCHA MORNING DSP.

Linda had lots of fun playing with the ORNAMENT PUNCH and decided to try both DRY EMBOSSING  and HEAT EMBOSSING  with Silver Embossing Powder. The ornament on the bottom Right side is punched out in BRUSHED GOLD,  embossed with one of the ADORNING ACCENTS  embossing folders then the top was coloured with a VERSAMARKER and heat embossed with Silver.

Another technique was used on the title which was stamped in Basic Black then coloured with a BLENDER PEN and Classic Inks. Lots of fun techniques for everyone to try out.

This will have to be a quick post as I'm madly preparing for our annual Canberra Craft Fair and due to another interstate trip coming up - my time is really limited.

so
Until Next time

Create Unique Papers With Stamps

At our recent Stampin' Up! Convention we were entertained by many of our fellow demonstrators who brought fantastic ideas with them. This idea of creating your own unique background papers for scrap pages really struck a chord with me as I love to Collage Stamp. I've also recently re-discovered the fabulous Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks, as they come in all the coordinating colours of the Stampin' Up! inks.

This is what I came up with ...

I started with So Saffron patterned paper that had lots of writing on it. You'll see it more clearly in one of the detail photos. I added lots of images using my favourite Stampin' Up! stamp set - French Foliage, plus some other images from Nature Walk and Wedding Suite

Stampin' Up! Classic Ink Colours are Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Not Quite Navy. Then I sponged randomly around the edges. Next  I tore some Well Worn DSP to create the contrasting strip across the page, and to make the round flowers. The leaves are stamped from French Foliage, sponged and cut out.  I also used the fantastically versatile Framelits - Labels Collection  to highlight either side of the photograph.

Here you can see all the Collage Stamping as well as just make out the original background. I gave this challenge to my scrap class this month and they really enjoyed it after their initial hesitation. Made them think outside the box!!

Well that's it for today,

Until Next Time

Crazy Patchwork Scrap Frame

I've always had a yearning to make a crazy patchwork quilt and never quite got around to doing it.

So it came to me the other day that I could modify that concept and create a crazy paper patchwork frame with a little stamping, some texture and stitching.

Here is the solution. I took this photo earlier this week and loved the colours .

Stamp Sets used are from Stampin' Up! and include:
Faith In Nature (hostess set)
Artistic Etchings
French Foliage
Life Definitions (retired)
Tidy Alphabet (retired)

The frame was created first then matted on Whisper White Card Stock  then a second mat of Basic Gray. This was then place on an angle on a 30 x 30 cm piece of Basic Black Card Stock. This detail shows the use of some collage stamping - Cajun Craze and Not Quite Navy Classic Inks.

The variety of textures are created using Finial Press, Perfect Polka Dots and Stripes Embossing Folders. (all available from Stampin' Up!)

The stitching is done with Linen Thread and a needle. The swirly embossing folder has been pre-inked by randomly swiping the ink pad over the folder then sponging some additional colour on before embossing with the Big Shot.

A hand made and stamped calico flower enhanced with a a few leaves from the French Foliage stamp set and buttons from the Regals Collection is also sponged and then spritzed with Shimmer Mist made from the Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint - Champagne Mist.

Shapes for the flower are cut from the  Flower Folds Bigz XL die.

Until Next Time,

Stay Crafty!

Scrap Page - New Baby.

I'm at it again! Our sweet little granddaughter is just demanding to be decorated and saved on scrap pages. It is so easy to scrap for girls - at least I find it that way being a mum to 3 of my own, so it is fun to be doing these baby photos for little Mackenzie.

Pastel colours are just perfect for these pages - I have a number of page kits ready in these or similar pastel colours. If you would like one or more please contact me for prices and postage.

All the papers and card are from Stampin' Up! and I made the embellishments with a variety of dies from the BIG SHOT.

The fairy embellishment is an image I embossed but didn't use for a previous project. It picked up the purple in Kenzie's little dress and of course fairies and all things nice are very appropriate for little girls.

The Lollipop flower was cut with the Big Shot and the CIRCLES #2 Die, then dry embossed with the FINIAL PRESS embossing folder. The edges were distressed and the shape was then sprayed with SHIMMER PAINT MIST that I made from the lovely FROST WHITE SHIMMER PAINT (available from Stampin' Up!) It gives a subtle glimmer - oh so nice!

This detail shows how effective using patterns and punched edges can be. The decorative edge is made with the SCALLOP TRIM BORDER PUNCH, the little embossed butterflies come ready embossed and cut by using the BEAUTIFUL WINGS  Embosslits Die, and the title is made with the OVALS  Originals Die and a Rub On.

I hold scrap book classes 4 times per month and provide a scrap map and highlight a different technique each month. Here is a sample of the scrap map used for this page. If you would like to join me I have some vacancies on the first Thursday of each month at 7.15pm.

Contact me via my Demonstrator Business Web Site for more information.

Until next time,

A New Scrap Page Subject

Last week we were delighted to welcome our first grand daughter to the family.
Little Mackenzie Harper came into the world with her eyes wide open and ready for a feed!

And grandma took her camera in to visit when she was a couple of hours old - ready to get some great photos to scrap.

With all the excitement, I wasn't feeling overly creative (other things on my mind) and luckily I had some of my Scrap Page Kits left over from the Canberra Craft Fair, so I matched some colours  and added a couple of elements and had my first page complete in about half an hour.

Here it is....

I really love the variety of flowers that can be made from the BLOSSOM PARTY ORIGINALS DIE. It's so much fun to mix colours, patterns and shapes to obtain lots of different looking flowers.

Bold lettering in the title is created with the BIG SHOT  and the very versatile SIMPLE LETTERS ALPHABET BIGZ DIE  (set of 4)

And of course the BEAUTIFUL WINGS EMBOSSLITS  DIE  is a perfect accessory to all those lovely flowers. I just love how it embosses and cuts at the same time.

The edges of the DSP look great trimmed with the SCALLOP TRIM BORDER PUNCH - it is so delicate.

And we can't have a little girl without some pink ribbon and pearls.

The stripes of the Pretty In Pink 3.2 cm  STRIPED GROSGRAIN add the perfect contrast to the spotted pink DSP behind the photo, and the BASIC JEWELS - PEARLS  add a finishing touch to the centres of the flowers.

I still have plenty of SCRAP PAGE KITS  available, so if you'd like one or more just contact me via my Demonstrator Business Website and see what I have left.

I'll be back tomorrow with the cards from tonight's Christmas Stamp A Stack.

Until then

Scrapping Again.

I've had the best couple of days spending time with friends in my stamping room.

I have a couple of dear friends (hi Lorraine and Denise!) who come once a month for the whole day and we just craft away as we please. Lots of chatting and some wonderful creativity occur at these days.

This week I was determined to create a scrap page from the scrap map I'd created for my scrap-booking classes and this is the result.

All products used on this page are from Stampin' Up!®

My favourite topic for scrapping - Tyler, my 3 year old grandson is such a dear little boy. We have lots of fun on our Mondays together and one of his favourite past times is getting the seeds from the Silver Birch trees and throwing them all over me. We used to do that as kids and after I showed him once, he decided that it was lots of fun to totally cover grandma with seeds.

The technique I've used was shown to us at Convention this year by Sharnee Torrents.

I used this technique on some Christmas cards at my last regular Christmas Card Class and we all found it lots of fun for our scrap page this month too.

I took the rolled frame technique a little further this time, and crumpled the entire page prior to sponging the creases to create highlights. I stamped images from the French Foliage (p. 6 Autumn/Winter Mini) The leaves have been sponged and cut so I could layer them and create more texture.

What better embellishment to add for a little boy than loads of buttons? These buttons from Stampin' Up!® co ordinate so beautifully with the Papers and Inks, and tiny little Linen Thread knots complete the picture.

Give this Rolled Frame technique a try. It's fun and has endless possibilities for creative expression.

Until next time,

Stay Crafty!
