Have you tried the Press n Seal Technique? It gives an awesome 3D effect to your card and is an interesting concept in card making.
Today I've chosen to use the Tropical Chic stamp set by Stampin' Up!
The design is lifted off the base and looks like it is floating.
Tropical chic is a beautiful graphic set of stamps that relies on the shapes and colours you choose for its impact. I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze and Flirty Flamingo and the leaves in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. Simple stamping that is enhanced by cutting with the coordinating dies "Tropical".
WHAT'S THE METHOD?
Stamp lots of flowers and leaves on a piece of Thick Whisper White.
Cut the shapes using coordinating dies from the Tropical die set.
Arrange the shapes in a design - I found it easier to overlap some of the shapes but you need to be careful that all shapes can be adhered to the base card with dimensionals.
Cover your design with Press n Seal and cut out the centre with a Shape die like Stitched Rectangles, Layering Circles etc.
Place a dimensional on the back of each shape then carefully turn the Press n Seal over and position it on the card front.
Gently peel the Press n Seal off the design.
The finished design with the centre cut out and a large greeting stamp inserted.
One of the really good outcomes of this technique is that you can end up with 2 cards if you are careful with your design.1 card uses the outside of the design and the other uses the cut out piece from the inside.
All you need to do is add a greeting and maybe a little faux stitching and you have 2 lovely cards.
