Waterclour Pencils and Mediterranean Moments

Today's post continues with the water colour theme, and this time I combined the beautiful Stampin' Up! stamp set Mediterranean Moments, Beautiful You, Timeless Textures and the Water Colour Pencils together.

I wanted to keep this very simple and show my class how quickly you can make a card using the w/c pencils as your colouring agent.

You will be able to tell that in order to place the girl in the middle of the scene, I used the masking technique while creating this card.  I've kept the colouring to a minimum and only selected a few sections of the scene to colour in.

I used Archival Black from Stampin' Up! to stamp the images and did some light applications of colour with the pencils. I blended them with an Aqua Painter, and afterwards spritzed the entire image with water. I love how the colour runs a little, and how the watercolour paper happily accepts the additional water.

I thought the card was lacking a little in balance so added a texture stamp using Real Red classic ink at the bottom corner and the top of the opposite side. This stamp is one of the many versatile stamps from Timeless Textures, and is wonderful to add that finishing touch to a card.
So if you haven't tried this easy method of watercolouring, order yourself some pencils, w/c paper and Archival ink and you will be ready to start.

Happy Stamping to you all,

I cannot finish this post without offering each of you a fabulous opportunity to join Stampin' Up! during Sale-A-Bration. Stars Framelits Framing Angels - Stampin' Up! Christmas Card

With August fast flying us by, it is time for all of us to get started on our Christmas cards. I host a Christmas Stamp A Stack all through the year, but as Christmas approaches the urgency to be prepared becomes more acute.

For my August class I decided to use an old favourite stamp of an angel combined with the Stars Framelits and the versatile Timeless Textures stamp set.

I love that I can water colour the angel in any colour I choose and then create a background to either contrast or harmonize with the colour range.
The backgrounds are stamped randomly using 2 or 3 of the stamps from Timeless Textures.

The star has been cut out on the Big Shot using 2 framelits at once. I used Gold Glimmer paper for these stars

I stamped on Whisper White  card using Archival Black Ink, and then used an Aqua Painter to lightly brush some colour onto the angel. This is a very quick way to add colour.

The angel has been fussy cut and a couple of the lovely string sequins are separated and adhered with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  The variations that can be achieved with the layouts of this card are numerous and it is fun to change things a little for each card. I get bored making the same thing over and over.

You can find a list of the current product I've used at the bottom of this post. If you'd like to purchase any of the products you can do so via my on-line store . Don't forget to add the Hostess Code - (top right side bar) and you will be in the draw for free product.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

South Pacific Grand Vacation Project Life Card Swap

I am participating in 3 swaps for the Grand Vacation and this one is just for the South Pacific achievers. We decided that a Project Life sized card would be ideal for when we all create our wonderful Project Life Memory albums from this trip of a life time that we've earned through being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

My card is quite generic, but I've been inspired by the curvy lines of Gaudi architecture that is found in Barcelona and the vibrant and colourful ambience of this Spanish city.

The card is 3 inches  x 4 inches and uses one of my new favourite stamp sets from Stampin' Up!
- Timeless Textures. (if you haven't fallen in love with this set, you will as soon as you use it!)

Please forgive the "blueness" of the  photos - I'm not sure what happened when I was taking them, but it only seems to be the white that has a blue tinge. (I will take new photos when I return from the trip.) Classic ink colours used are: Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay.

I used the shaving cream technique for the background and stamped over the top with a variety of stamps from Timeless Textures. Then a little banner with a greeting from one of my Project Life stamp sets, a small portion of a Tea Lace doily (and who would have thought they would be on the retirement list? ) and a punched flower in Watermelon  Wonder card complete the card.

Great fun making these and I can't wait to see all the other creations from my clever colleagues.

Happy Stamping!
