Christmas - Clearly for You

April brings along another Christmas Card Stamp a Stack and one of the cards we made this time was using the "CLEARLY FOR YOU" stamp set from Stampin' Up!®.

The sentiment is from another of my preferred Christmas sets: "BEAUTIFUL SEASON" It is stamped in Cherry Cobbler onto WHISPER WHITE card, then punched out with the DECORATIVE LABEL PUNCH

It never ceases to amaze me how many of the Stampin' Up! images can be used for so many different purposes. I try to design a wide variety of Christmas cards so the attendees of my classes go home with multiple ideas.

...So here is the card - using a fairly traditional colour scheme of :

CHERRY COBBLER
MELON MAMBO
OLD OLIVE
ALWAYS ARTICHOKE
WHISPER WHITE

I've used a couple of my favourite Stampin' Up! Embossing Folders to add texture and interest to the background of the card:
PERFECT POLKA DOTS
MANHATTAN FLOWER
and the circular shapes come from the Bigz L Die: PERFECT PENNANTS
and
6cm SCALLOP CIRCLE PUNCH

The ribbon is
CHERRY COBBLER SCALLOPED DOTS RIBBON
CROCHET TRIM - VICTORIA

I used my Stampin' Write Markers direct to rubber technique to achieve variation on the colour of the berries and leaves. This is very quick and only requires you to start with the lighter colours first then highlight with the darker tones of each colour.

Don't forget to use the brush end of the marker, and always store your markers horizontally for added life and usability.
The markers are a great investment and will last you a long time (mine are now 6 years old and they get used a lot - not only by me but by my class attendees as well)

They come in this handy carry case if you purchase the whole set at the one time, and save you buying all those ink pads that you may not use very often, as you can use the marker to ink up any stamp.

If you'd like the opportunity to WIN A SET OF MARKERS please see this blog post or select the picture of the Markers on the side bar, for further details.

I'll be back later with the other cards we made this month,

Until Next Time

Stay Crafty!

    1. Glad you like the card Annette. It's hard to come up with different designs each month, so sometimes I have to think "outside the square"
