What does traditional Christmas mean to you?
For me it is the colours red, green white and either gold or silver, images of holly or mistletoe, music - Christmas carols plus friends, family and food.
Today for the Freshly Brewed Projects blog hop we are treating you to some traditional Christmas cards and I've chosen to use images from the

wanted to keep the card quite simple and that usually means a lot of white, but I love texture and shape so I decided to layer up a few elements.
I coloured the bird with my Stampin' Blends after stamping the image in Memento Black. The Blends are great for quick colouring and give such beautiful coverage and shading in the images. I've listed the colours I used in the products list below.

The bird image was fussy cut and arranged over the front of gold foil and Mossy Meadow swirls from the Seasonal Swirls Dies. I often use the Color Lifter Blend to create highlights and you can use it to create a visual texture too.
Layering of images is so much fun and gives you the option to rearrange elements until you find the perfect composition.
HINT: Gently spritz the paper to be embossed, particularly if using a 3D embossing folder. For Christmas I add a little shimmer paint to the spritz for a lovely happy glow!

Here is the finished card. This simple layout can be used with so many different elements, so give it a try with some stamps you have, or if you want to recreate this card, you are welcome to purchase the products from the list below - just click on the image and it will take you to my on-line shop.
