Stampin Up - Feeling Sentimental Masculine Card

I have a masculine card project to show using the fabulous FEELING SENTIMENTAL  stamp set from Stampin' Up!
But beware! If you fall in love with this set - it is only available during Sale-a-bration and that finishes March 22nd. The deal is you create a $100+ order and you choose one free product from the SALE-A-BRATION BROCHURE. If you have a larger order you can choose one product for every $100 spent. (please note that 5% postage and handling is not included  in the total.

You can see all the catalogues plus the Sale-a-bration brochure here.
And if you'd like to place an order with me you can do so here.

And here is a little inspiration.

I started out to create a masculine card so I chose the  Penny Farthing image and restricted my colour range to Neutrals ( Craft, Soft Suede, Vanilla and Early Espresso) with Pool Party highlights.

I chose some Craft coloured patterned paper from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack and stamped an image from the OH HELLO  stamp set in the Seasonal Catalogue.
The main image was stamped onto Vanilla card then sponged with a mix of Craft and Soft Suded ink. The spattering uses an Early Espresso Marker and the Spritzer Tool.

You wont find too many of my "Vintage" creations that do not feature an Antique Brad. I just love these, and this time I've complimented the large brad with 3 small brads from the Vintage Trinkets selection. They help to hold the Pool Party Seam Binding in place.

Torn and sponged edges, plus a little paper piercing complete the picture.

A Sentimental Tag

I'm really enjoying the Feeling Sentimental stamp set from Stampin' Up's exclusive range of
Sale-A-Bration  exclusive free products.

I took the next project a little further and concentrated on creating a variety of textures that grew as the work evolved. I did have a plan in my head, but as usual, that plan took different directions as the Tag evolved. I love working that way. It is very satisfying not to be restricted by parameters, and I think allows the creative process to really flow.

Here are a couple of detail shots of parts of the tag.

My colour range is yellow, craft, artichoke and early espresso on vanilla card.
For the image I used the Rock 'n Roll technique: firstly inking the image with Artichoke then rolling the edges in Early Espresso. This makes such an interesting two colour image and I love the little hint of serendipity where one doesn't quite know how things will work out. I used images from French Foliage to compliment the main image that is another stamp from the Feeling Sentimental stamp set.

A variety of textures were created using the Big Shot and the Stampin' Up Embossing Folders: Chevron and Stripes. These areas were over stamped with images from French Foliage and sponged with Artichoke and Espresso inks.
I used Craft, Yellow and Artichoke Seam Binding with some Linen Thread to create the tie at the top, and a little scrap of Crochet Trim as a detail and added texture on the tag.

This was really fun to make and I'd love to try it in a variety of colour ranges.
I do hope you enjoy these projects and that you will give them a try.

I think this project fits the following challenges:
Addicted To Stamps challenge - must include stamping
Stampavie and More - Tag It challenge 188
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Feeling Sentimental Images from Stampin' Up!

When I first saw the images from Stampin' Up's! Feeling Sentimental Sale-a-bration stamp set, it brought back memories of my childhood when we had to go down to the corner and the red telephone box if we wanted to make a phone call. I grew up in a household with no phone! That is almost unimaginable these days, and to this day I do not really like using the 'phone.

I think these images are great and the style evokes somewhat of a "yesteryear feeling".
As I mentioned it is a Sale-A-Bration stamp set and therefore is exclusive and FREE to customers who order $100.00 or more of Stampin' Up! product.

I used  the Emboss Resist technique for the basis of the card, with a little sponging and over stamping, and then decided to create some more interest by making another panel using the DSP, a little sponging and Pink Card stock.

Linen Thread by Stampin' Up! is really suited to the vintage look and of course the Antique Brads make a nice statement as an embellishment.
Here is the completed card.

It is mounted onto a white card base and you'll notice the slight overlapping of shapes that don't stay within the boundaries of the card  base. I like to go "off the page" - somehow it gives me more freedom and there really is no reason to stay within the confines of a square or rectangle.

I hope you like the card. If you'd like to make one of these, this is just one of the projects I teach at my Sale-A-Bration Events.

The next one is on Friday February 15th.

I still have a couple of spaces available. The event is free and you'll have the opportunity to view all the SAB products, and try some of them out.
I'll also demonstrate a number of the new products from the new Seasonal Catalogue .
