Stampin' Up! Achievers Blog Hop - Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for August.
I'm so excited to be doing this hop for a couple of reasons:
1. I just last week achieved the next Grand Vacation - the Mediterranean Cruise - a dream come true for me - yippee!!
and
2. We get to give you a sneak peek of some of the gorgeous items that are in the new Holiday Catalogue.

Today was the first day I've had to play with my box of goodies from Demonstrator Pre-Order - it has been a frantically busy month with me and one of my team members participating in the 4 day Canberra Craft and Quilt Fair, and that involves a huge amount of work and preparation. Couple that with regular classes and events, and I've been battling a bug for about 6 weeks. However all is good now and I hope you love what I have prepared for you.

Christmas is a delightful time of the year, full of family gatherings, good food and lots of fun.  Funnily enough, even though it is summer here in Australia, I still love the concept of snowflakes and traditional Northern Hemisphere celebrations.

For my project I have made a non-traditional colour snowflake gift tag. Perhaps it is a little over the top for a gift tag, but it will be for a very special person.

I used the rich Black and White paper from "Winter Wonderland" DSP  and scored 2 strips @ 2 and 1/2 inches using my score board. Isn't that just the most gorgeous set of papers? After folding and joining the 2 strips, I hot glued them to a circle of black card to make the rosette.

I wanted to try every item in the Holiday Catalogue but did limit myself to about 7 or 8 different products!

Next I took one of the Spider Web Doilies, turned it over to the white side and embossed with heat and stick powder and silver glitter - stunning!

I couldn't go past using the "Sleigh Ride" Edgelits Dies, and chose the cute little houses. I have a "thing" about houses. I was surprised and pleased at how easily these pop out after running them through the Big Shot.
To make the tag a little more interesting and individual, I chose a greeting from the "Versatile Christmas" stamp set and heat embossed the words with White Embossing Powder.

There seemed to be a few blank spaces in my composition so I added some stamped snowflakes from the "Flurry of Wishes" stamp set, and punched them with the coordinating punch - Snow Flurry. You'll be able to get these 2 items as a bundle when ordering starts September 1st, so keep an eye out for savings like that in the new Holiday Catalogue. I wanted a bit of variety in these snowflakes and even though they come in 2 sizes I decided to emboss some with white onto Black Card and Silver Glitter onto black card.

I arranged them on Dimensionals, added some of the new Silver Cording Trim and Iced Rhinestone Embellishments and my tag was complete. I love to make eclectic items and this one sure has a lot of different heights, shapes and products in it, but it just goes to show what masters the designers at Stampin' Up! are - to be able to give us all these beautiful products that coordinate so well.

You should now take a look at the next blog in the line up below and enjoy all the wonderful ideas. Don't miss a single blog because they all have great ideas for using your new products from the Holiday Catalogue

You will be sure to want so many of these items when they are released on September 1st. They will be available on-line through my store or you may contact me if you want further help.

Have fun following along the Blog Hop and be inspired by all the super examples!

Stampin Up Grand Vacation Swap Inspiration

I love travelling but really don't like the probability of catching a cold on the plane. Our return flight from the Stampin Up Grand Vacation in Hawaii was very cold and I just knew I'd end up with a cold and sure enough it hit me last night. Feeling a bit under the weather today, but after 3 classes this week I'm not surprised.
We received a lovely pack of 26 swaps while at the GV and I was taken with the creativity of one that influenced this card that we did at our "Crafty Tuesday" meeting this week. The swap was created by Jackie Ross - thanks for the inspiration Jackie!

And here is my version - I've changed the colours and added a different greeting and a tiny bit of ribbon.

This is a gorgeous card that uses 2 stamp sets - Gorgeous Grunge and Sheltering Tree, from Stampin' Up!  I'm so pleased that both of these sets will carry over to the next catalogue that will be available to purchase from on June 2, 2015.

I used a pallet of the 2014 -2016 In Colors - Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey, plus Early Espresso for the tree trunk.

I love how the Gorgeous Grunge set makes a great tree topper - it reminds me of our current Autumn season where the leaves are turning colour and flying off the tree with the wind blowing. I chose the colours to represent Autumn and am very happy with how they combined together.

Stampin' Up is retiring the very cute "Itty Bitty Banner" stamp set and coordinating framelits, that I used for the greeting. You can get this stamp set at a discount on the Retirement List but be quick as it will only be available until June 2nd 2015.

I added a little bling to the tree canopy by colouring Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Blendabilities. I'm keeping mine as I love how they work and I really enjoy using them.
If you would like to re create this card you will need the following supplies. You may purchase them at my on-line store

Grand Vacation Hawaii Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation Achievers Hawaii Blog Hop. You have just hopped here from Bec's blog, and I'm sure you are loving all the tropical inspiration so far. Isn't it fabulous?

I'm excited to be participating, as this is my first ever blog hop, and I'm equally thrilled to be joining some really awesome demonstrators in showing what I have created.

I've just started to enjoy Stampin' Up's offerings for Project Life Memory Keeping. I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but I'll put that down to loving to create 12" x 12" scrap pages and not quite knowing how I'd manage the Project Life system. So I thought I'd combine the 2 methods - some 12 x 12 pages to showcase my favourite large photos and lots of Project Life pages to document the fun vacation that we will share with other Stampin Up demonstrators.

For my contribution to the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation Hawaii Blog Hop I have created a 12" x 12" "front page" that will introduce loads of pages of photos that I intend to take while in Hawaii. Memories from my previous visit (a long time ago) are of beautiful sunsets and colourful flowers, so they have been my inspiration.

I used Petite Petals, Flower Shop and Petal Potpourri stamp sets to create the flowers, and combined them with matching punches: Petite Petals, Pansy and Flower Medallion. Many of the flowers have been coloured with classic inks and a Blender Pen.

The back ground is created with a brayer starting with Daffodil Delight Classic Ink then adding Rose Red, Perfect Plum and Tempting Turquoise for the sky area. The horizon and moon are masked, and background stamping in Blackberry Bliss and Tempting Turquoise provides some foliage as a backdrop for the punched out flowers. I have used Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron for the sea, and I sponged additional colour to darken the lower right hand corner.

Working out where to put the flowers! Also time to sponge some colour onto the "moon".

The triple layer flowers have dimensionals between the layers to add height and texture to the layout. I have prepared spaces for Holiday dates using the Handpicked Framelits dies, and created a space for my photo by placing Whisper White over Vellum.

A little bit of bling behind the title and on the centres of some flowers.

And the final product. Just waiting for a lovely photo to be added in the space provided.

Stampin Up Grand Vacation 2013

Well it seems that the posts I had scheduled for while I was overseas are still sitting here waiting to be viewed. Better late than never and so many of you have been interested to hear all about my amazing trip with Stampin Up that I will start with this one.
BTW we had a great flight with the plane being about 1/3 full, so everyone had lots of room and everyone was in a very pleasant mood. Ideal start to a Grand Vacation!

Today I hop on a plane for the long journey to the USA, but it is to celberate my very first Grand Vacation achievement. What a thrill that it coincides with Stampin' Up!'s 25th Anniversay.

As a bonus we can attend the USA Convention and that will be an awesome experience with thousands of demonstrators from around the world converging on Salt Lake City, meeting up with blogger friends and just enjoying more of the enthusiasm and inspiration that Convention always supplies.

I am taking Lorraine, a fellow demonstrator and friend of more than 30 years, as my guest and we are very excited about Convention and the beautiful Holiday at the St Regis Deer Valley, Park City Utah.

 It looks lovely doesn't it?
Time to finish some more swaps for the big trip - talk soon!
