Amazing You with Loads of Techniques

Hello to all my amazing followers.
This card is for you!

This Sale A Bration set was one of the first I chose, but I've been so slow in using it. I wanted to make something special and came up with this card that uses so many techniques:

I started  with this lovely embossing folder from the Petal Pair Textured embossing folders (OC p. 23) I have used the de-bossed side to make it easier to add some heat embossing on the background.

You can see the gold embossed "spray". This is another stamp from the Amazing You set.
I stamped the flower 3 times using the "marker direct to rubber" method. That is where you colour the rubber image with Stampin' Write Markers. A great technique that allows you to print numerous colours at the one time. No need to rush with the colouring as a simple huff of your breath on the stamp will moisten the ink and you can stamp directly onto the card stock. It is best to use the brush end of the marker.

I coloured the flowers with an Aqua Painter and ink from the top of the ink pad, using the same Rose Red colour. I find the soft effect to my liking. I also added a little Fresh Fig to the centres of the flowers.

You can see the layers of doily, a hollow circle cut with the Stitched Circle Framelits, the flowers that have been fussy cut with Stampin' Up! paper snips, and a die cut "amazing" from the Celebrate You Thinlits.  The good news is these Thinlits will be available in the 2018 -19 Annual Catalogue, so if you missed out on them you just need to be a little patient.

The small greeting "you" has been gold embossed then coloured with Clear Wink of Stella.  I also coloured the doily and the "Amazing" with the Wink of Stella.

I hope you like the card - it was lots of fun to make. If you would like to order any of the products I used, select the images below and it will take you directly to my on-line store.

Birthday Balloon Celebrations with Faux Marbling

The Faux Marbling or shaving cream technique is so much fun. I tried it out for the first time today and combined it with the Balloon Celebrations stamp set from Stampin' Up!® It brought back memories of teaching marbling to my students at school many years ago, however this technique is far easier than mixing up bucket loads of wallpaper paste and dropping thinned oil paint onto the surface.

I really love all the different colour combinations and patterns that can be made, and the ladies at class this morning had so much fun - they didn't want to go home!

Here is the card I made using one of the simpler backgrounds.

and some details ....
I chose just 2 colours from the many re-inkers that I have from Stampin' Up!® and decided to make them somewhat harmonious as I was conscious of the fact that complimentary colours will neutralize each other if mixed together too much.

A hint with the Balloon Punch: punch the shapes first (they are side by side) then stamp them. Because the stamp is Photopolymer, it is easy to see where you are stamping and it saves a lot of angst about getting the images in the right place, or wasting card stock.

I had a little of the pattered background left over, so I punched a small heart and sponged the edges to give it definition. I'm considering a dash of Wink of Stella, what do you think?

A list of the Stampin' Up!® products I used is below. You can see a video tutorial on the Splitcoast Stampers website. It is easy to follow. The only different step we did was to blot the shaving cream off the paper rather than rub it in a circular motion. The blotting leaves you with a much cleaner finish.

Until next time,

Happy Crafting

Stampin' Up! Achievers Blog Hop - Colour Me New

Hello again and thanks so much for joining us in this month's Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop.
This month we have a new theme that requires us to
"Use at least two new 2015-2017 In-Colors in your project. Other colors can be used, however please use at least two new In-colors."

You are at Ann Craig's Blog now and I'm so glad you've stopped by.

THEME: COLOR ME NEW!
I didn't think this would be too hard as I am enjoying most of the new 2015 -2017 In Colors, however I have struggled to create something  for this blog hop that I feel is satisfactory.
This is what I ended up with...

I've seen plenty of gorgeous examples of cards using the Vintage Leaves stamp set and thought combining the In Colors would give some wonderful Autumn Colours. I knew I'd be able to neutralise some of the colours by overlapping them and am really happy with the way the leaf turned out. It is a combination of Delightful Dijon, Watermelon Wonder and a little Mint Macaron sponged onto the stamped image and then over-stamped with the original image in Tip Top Taupe ink.

You can see that I crumpled it a little before placing one dimensional in the centre and adhering both the tip of the leaf and the stem, to the background of the card.
I've used my "go - to" stamp sets - Gorgeous Grunge and Work of Art, to create the background in Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon and Tip Top Taupe.
The card base is Whisper White with edges sponged in Tip Top Taupe, matted onto Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder.

The tag is stamped with a greeting from "I Think Your Great" stamp set, and the "celebrate" is from Expressions Naturals Elements that I have sponged lightly with Delightful Dijon ink.

I hope you like what I've made - I'm still not convinced although I am warming to the finished product.
Thanks so much for stopping by....
Now you should hop along to the next link in the list below to get some more awesome inspiration on ways to use the new 2015 - 2017 In Colors.
