Grandma's House

Are you a grandma? I am, and I like to think my 4 little ones love to visit.  

I love the whimsy of these stamps from Stampin' Up! and they are aptly named Grandma's House. Of course I had to have this set and I wanted to create a card that was both quick but also "went with the flow". As a grandma that is often what I need/want to do!

I chose the technique where the outline is embossed in Clear embossing powder  then the images are coloured with Classic Inks and an Aqua Painter. With any water colouring I like to apply the colour freely and not worry too much about staying within the lines. 

The card has a Purple Posy Base and the design is roughly matted with Gorgeous Grape and backed with Grapefruit Grove DSP.

Wonderful Romance With Stampin' Up!

I'm loving all the new products from the Occasions Catalogue, and although I've had a full month away from classes, we started back again and it is so much fun trying out all the new products.

Today I'm showing a card using the Wonderful Romance Bundle that includes a set of 8 cling stamps and a set of 15 coordinating dies.

As many of my regular readers know, I love water colouring, so I wanted to combine that with some less realistic elements in this card. I also wanted to restrict the colour range - hence the Early Espresso leaves . 

Did you  notice the textured background and intricate edge to the Soft Sea Foam card? The texture is created with the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder and the edge is from one of the framelits in the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies.

I really like the interplay of texture and colour in this card. The small pink leaves are embossed with the same die that cuts them out. 

I stamped the Vellum with Memento and we had to get that done at the start of class to give it plenty of time to dry. Such a lovely sentiment

"Together is a wonderful place to be".

Petal Promenade With a Dash of Water Colour

Don't you just love the beautiful Designer Series Papers in the annual Catalogue? 

One of my favourite paper sets is Petal Promenade.

Such beautiful images and colours that match perfectly with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set. 

As you know I love to colour and in particular I love to water colour. With this set I stamped the flower images then just dragged a little of the colour with an Aqua Painter. The design of these flowers did not need a lot of colour as I didn't want to loose the effect of the gorgeous paper. 

Here are a couple of samples: 

The stamps and papers are part of the Petal Promenade Suite that contains many coordinating products. You can find it on p. 106 - 107 of the Annual Catalogue and you will notice that there is a set of Thinlit Dies to make cutting of the flowers super easy.
