Foxy Friends Slider Card

I'm loving the trend of interactive cards and today I made my first slider card - what fun. It is so exciting when the image actually slides and tumbles!

I used the Sliding Star Framelits by Stampin' Up!® and decided to branch out a little and use stamps that I already owned to create some different cards.

I also used the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack - a stack of coordinating papers 15.2 x 15.2 cm (6 inches square) to create quick, coordinated backgrounds.

The first card uses the front and back of one sheet and I stamped the little fox in Pool Party with Memento Black details.
The greeting is a combination of 3 stamps from the Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer stamp set. It is really good to be able to compose a greeting with the photopolymer stamps as you can see exactly what you will be getting.  I also like the contrasts in the styles of script.

The second card uses different colours with a dominance of Calypso Coral. Again this is the front and reverse of the one sheet of DSP.

With both backgrounds I fussy cut along the design to give the background a bit of interest. You will notice that the fox tail has been cut and realigned closer to the fox body. I did this to keep the unit more compact and therefore more easily moved.

I used washers and dimensionals as shown in the video by Stampin Up! and found that it is important to ensure the washers are placed exactly on top of each other.

Here is a video of my card in motion.

Something For Baby Card

A new baby is always a joyous occasion and it is lovely to have some hand made cards to give to the new parents. Stampin' Up! have produced some great time saving bundles in the new Annual Catalogue and one of them is the Something For Baby stamp set bundled with Baby's First framelits dies. You'll find them on page 74 of the Annual Catalogue.

One of the features I like best about bundles with framelits is the time it saves with no laborious hand cutting. You can see from the photo how neatly the framelits cut out the images.

AND

When you purchase both the stamps and the framelits together as a bundle you save 15% of the total price.

I used some of the patterned papers from the Designer Series Paper Stacks for a quick background. These papers are very useful patterns and come in each of the Colour Families - they mix and match beautifully too.

This is the finished card using a single image. It was quick and easy to make and the same design can be used for each of the images in the set.

If you would like to order any of these products please contact me or order directly at my on-line store

I hope you enjoy the card and get some inspiration for ways to use it yourself.

Until Next time,

Rejoicing with Stampin' Up! Images

"Rejoicing With You" is the name of a lovely Christmas Stamp set from Stampin' Up! You'll find it on page 21 of the Annual Catalogue.

At a recent Christmas Card Stamp A Stack I used this set in 2 different ways to demonstrate the versatility of the stamps.

Heat embossing the main image with Gold Embossing Powder creates a lovely motif that is easily cut out with Paper Snips.

The card shape is cut using the largest Window Frames Framelit that is then layered with a Tea Lace Paper Doily, a Brushed Gold snowflake, a layer of card that has been embossed, sponged and heat embossed with gold, another smaller Window Frame framelit frame and finally, the Angel image that was raised on dimensionals.

The Greeting Tag is created with the Music Notes Wheel and a greeting from the Christmas Lodge stamp set, by Stampin Up.
These would look in any colour combinations using either the gold or silver embossing powder, and although they look quite complicated, if you have all the products the cards can be made easily.

The next is a more traditional card shape in the landscape format.

 Stampin Up products used are:
Stamps: Rejoicing With You; Christmas Lodge; En Francais.
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler.
Inks: Cherry Cobbler; Chocolate Chip.
Accessories: Seam Binding -Cherry Cobbler; Flower Trim; Crochet Trim.

I really like the uneven stamped image on this stamp. It helps to give the card a more Vintage look.

I cut just one of the flowers from the Flower Trim strip - it makes such a lovely quick embellishment!

I hope you like the cards and they provide some inspiration for your own card making.
If you would like to order any of the products used you can now access MY ON-LINE STORE via my Demonstrator Business Website. The products will be sent straight to you - usually within a week of you ordering.

Stampin Up Secret Garden Bundle

I'm loving the Stampin' Up Bundles, not only because you save 15% on the cost, but also because it makes creating so much quicker with no tiresome fussy cutting.

The Secret Garden Bundle can be found on p. 17 of the Seasonal Catalogue and comprises a 7 piece stamp set and a 6 piece Framelits set.

I demonstrated 2 entirely different styles that could be made with this Stampin' Up! bundle and will show you the "Vintage" version today.

I started by embossing some PRIMROSE PETALS CORE'DINATIONS card stock with the VINE STREET embossing folder (one of the FREE  offerings from this years Sale-A-Bration selection)
Next I lightly sanded it with the STAMPIN' SANDING SYSTEM  thus exposing the light inner core of the card. A quick run around the edge with my DISTRESSING TOOL followed by some light sponging with CRUMB CAKE  ink and then it was matted onto white card.

I stamped the flower images from the SECRET GARDEN stamp set onto whisper White, then coloured them with a BLENDER PEN and Crumb Cake Classic Ink. I stamped the greeting onto Crumb Cake card then ran it through the BIG SHOT with the oval DESIGNER FRAMES Embossing Folder. This was sponged with PRIMROSE PETALS ink. The side edges are torn randomly, and the top edge is distressed. Can you guess which stamp set I used to distress the flowers? Of course it is my favourite! - FRENCH FOLIAGE.  I use this set over and over and really love the versatility for making Vintage cards in particular.
In addition I used an EARLY ESPRESSO STAMPIN WRITE MARKER and a COLOR SPRITZER TOOL to "spray" additional age spots onto the card after it was constructed.

The completed card has SEAM BINDING, CROCHET TRIM, LINEN THREAD, an ANTIQUE BRAD and some hand dyed PEARL BASIC JEWELS.

I really enjoyed making this card and the girls in my class found it easier than it looked. The colour combination is soft and easily distressed helping to create the Vintage effect I was after.

If you would like further information on my classes or techniques that I've used making this card, you are welcome to contact me via my Demonstrator Business Website. Likewise if you'd like to own this bundle you can place your order via the Website and it will be posted directly to you.

A Mixed Bunch Embossed Butterfly

Everyone loves butterflies, right? So I'm sure you're going  to love the versatility of creating stunning flowers and butterflies from this one stamp set by Stampin' Up!®

The stamp set is called MIXED BUNCH and you can find it in Autumn/Winter Mini. It coordinates with the BLOSSOM PUNCH on the same page, making cutting the shape super easy and super quick.

There are so many techniques that can be used with this set, and today I'm showing the results of the techniques of HEAT EMBOSSING  and DRY EMBOSSING with you.

Here is my card.

So where is the flower? It is the butterfly with two petals cut away! Isn't that great?
We were shown this great tip at the Stampin' Up! Convention this year.

The products used in this card are all from Stampin' Up!
Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette card stock
Square Lattice and Finial Press Embossing folders
Just Believe and Mixed Bunch stamp sets
Blossom Punch
Framelits - Labels Collection
White Bakers Twine
Crumb Cake Seam Binding
Versa Mark and White Embossing Powder
Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Pretty in Pink Classic Inks

You can see in the first detail how the stunning yet subtle the White Embossing powder is on the Pink Pirouette card. I have curved the wings of the butterfly slightly using a bone folder.
The floral image from the Just Believe stamp set was first stamped in Pretty in Pinnk, then Crumb Cake, and the base was sponged with Crumb Cake ink to add an ethereal feeling to the stamped image.

I created the narrow framelits frame by cutting 2 white Labels shapes the same size as the pink one, then cutting them diagonally across each frame into 4 pieces. If you look carefully you can see the join just above the Right wing of the butterfly.

The Finial Press embossing folder was pre-inked with Pink Pirouette ink before going through the Big Shot. I love this effect and am using it quite often in lots of my cards.

The final photo shows the 3-D effect easily obtained by shaping the butterfly with a Bone Folder and scrunching the seam binding onto a strip of Sticky Strip Adhesive.

Until Next Time,
