My baby grandson turned one last week and tonight I have been to a 70th Birthday dinner and I made tags to attach to both gifts for these occasions.
Getting a variety of colours in your image is easy using the Stampin' Write Markers directly onto the rubber image. Just colour the image with the brush tip of the marker and give it a "huff " to re moisten the ink. This means you don't have to rush with your colouring.
And this is the tag I made for the little fellow for his birthday. I have always loved this bunny image - a set that I bought in my early days with Stampin' Up!. Just goes to show how so many of these images are timeless and can be used over and over again.
This time I hand coloured the bunny using a blender pen and ink squeezed onto the inside lid of the ink pad. I also cut up a Tea Lace doily and positioned it around the rabbit.
I'm on a bit of a tag making trend right now so you may just see a few more samples over the enxt few weeks.
Love these card in a box style cards and as I wanted a fairly quick version for a class, I decided to create the decorations with the flower Shop stamp set from Stampin' Up and the coordinating Pansy Punch.
I also used one of my all-time favourite Designer Series Papers - Beau Chateau which is on the Stampin' Up! Clearance Rack for a very good price right now. You can always shop at my on-line store and the products will be posted directly to you. What could be easier?
Take a look at the card in the finished state. I added the vintage gramophone and sponged the edges of all the images with Soft Suede ink to create a Vintage effect for the entire card.
The centres of the flowers have Champagne Glass Glitter sprinkled over Tombow Glue.
The next photo shows how the card flattened down to be posted in a square envelope. You do need to continually check that your card will lie flat when you are creating and placing the decorations.
You know sometimes, the minute you see a stamp in a catalogue, just exactly what you want to do with it. This Poinsettia image from the Stampin' Up!® stamp set JOYFUL CHRISTMAS was just one of those stamps for me. It called out to be done with embossing and water-colour, and this is how I used the image.
I stamped the image twice with Versa Mark onto Whisper White card and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then hand coloured the petals using Rose Red Classic Ink and an Aqua Painter. I fussy cut both images, taking just the smaller set of petals from one and the full flower from the other image, and gave the flower some height with a dimensional. Gold Glass Glitter and Multipurpose Liquid Glue give the centre of the flower some texture. The background is Craft Card embossed with the Stampin Up NORTHERN FLURRY embossing folder and sponged in Rose Red Ink. The panels are made from Naturals White Card cut into 2 cm strips and embossed with the PRETTY PRINT TEXTURED IMPRESSIONS embossing folder (available in the Holiday Catalogue.
A tiny Tag was stamped and punched out, then tied to the flower with some Linen thread.
I've tried this image in a couple of other colours today, so I can see a lot of potential for a variety of cards.

When I saw the new ARTISAN EMBELLISHMENT KIT in the Seasonal Catalogue from Stampin' Up!, I thought that it was really beautiful. Almost too nice to pull apart, but that thought didn't last long.
Firstly, the range of colours is pure Vintage and the laces and other embellishments are delightfully varied in shape and texture.
What to make that would display all these lovely products, was the biggest question. I also wanted to try stamping on the new CANVAS CREATIONS - blank canvas sheet (p. 21 of the Seasonal Catalogue) It is so much fun seeing the results from stamping on a textured surface as you never quite know what the outcome will be.
I found this old frame that made the perfect base for a "picture" and started by stamping some images from OH HELLO stamp set.
I used the card backing from the lace because it has such beautiful cut outs at the top, and layered it over a doily before adding a couple of tinted individual flowers from the FLOWER TRIM.
You can see the gorgeous texture of the canvas in the detail photo. And the finished product looked odd in a white frame so I sponged the frame very randomly, with brown and pink ink.
I'm loving the Stampin' Up Bundles, not only because you save 15% on the cost, but also because it makes creating so much quicker with no tiresome fussy cutting.

I demonstrated 2 entirely different styles that could be made with this Stampin' Up! bundle and will show you the "Vintage" version today.
I started by embossing some PRIMROSE PETALS CORE'DINATIONS card stock with the VINE STREET embossing folder (one of the FREE offerings from this years Sale-A-Bration selection)
Next I lightly sanded it with the STAMPIN' SANDING SYSTEM thus exposing the light inner core of the card. A quick run around the edge with my DISTRESSING TOOL followed by some light sponging with CRUMB CAKE ink and then it was matted onto white card.
I stamped the flower images from the SECRET GARDEN stamp set onto whisper White, then coloured them with a BLENDER PEN and Crumb Cake Classic Ink. I stamped the greeting onto Crumb Cake card then ran it through the BIG SHOT with the oval DESIGNER FRAMES Embossing Folder. This was sponged with PRIMROSE PETALS ink. The side edges are torn randomly, and the top edge is distressed. Can you guess which stamp set I used to distress the flowers? Of course it is my favourite! - FRENCH FOLIAGE. I use this set over and over and really love the versatility for making Vintage cards in particular.
In addition I used an EARLY ESPRESSO STAMPIN WRITE MARKER and a COLOR SPRITZER TOOL to "spray" additional age spots onto the card after it was constructed.
The completed card has SEAM BINDING, CROCHET TRIM, LINEN THREAD, an ANTIQUE BRAD and some hand dyed PEARL BASIC JEWELS.
I really enjoyed making this card and the girls in my class found it easier than it looked. The colour combination is soft and easily distressed helping to create the Vintage effect I was after.

Over the last couple of years I've really started to love scrapping photos and now that our family has the addition of a cute little granddaughter - scrapping has become even easier. Sometimes I like to go beyond the confinement of a page and I thought a canvas would be great to show off this photo taken on our 40th Anniversary celebration cruise.
I used Stampin' Up! patterned papers for the background elements and a variety of punches to create the flowers. I also used embossing folders for texture, and Framelit dies from Stampin' Up! for interesting background shapes.
I love the effect obtained by sponging ink onto an embossing folder before running it through my Big Shot. The Stripes folder is great - it gives some wonderful texture, pre-inks easily and additional sponging on the edges helps to create a Vintage look.
Paper piercing is another great technique. One that can be used purely for decoration (as I've done on the Labels Collection Framelit Die (from Stampin' Up!) or as a guide for stitching (see below)
I prefer to make my own flowers from card stock - these were quick and easy to create by punching shapes, scrunching them up, sponging the edges with Soft Suede ink from Stampin' Up! and then piercing the centres with brads. The leaf stamp is from the "French Foliage" set and to give a little dimension I just folded it down the centre, sponged the spine and edges and attached to the canvas with hot glue.

I promised a second card in the series created for this month's Christmas Stamp A Stack using the SIMPLY SCORED scoring tool from Stampin' Up!®, and here it is.
This time I've used a REGULAR STAMPIN' WHEEL - named Music Notes. I inked it up with VERSA MARK and (most importantly, dusted the card with the EMBOSSING BUDDY) then rolled across the EARLY ESPRESSO card in a freehand motion.
I used the new scalloped EDGELITS DIE - from the ADORNING ACCENTS (you can find this in our Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue) to create the decorative edge on the Espresso card.
The base card is made using CRUMB CAKE - I always want to call this biscuit for some reason! - and I've used Early Espresso Classic Ink with the beautiful EN FRANCAIS background stamp from Stampin' Up!
I'll share a little trick here. Those of you who are familiar with this very large stamp will know that it will not stamp across a Landscape version of an A5 card without a join in the middle. (If you want the writing going the correct way) So I stamped it quite lightly and re-stamped right next to it. Doing this freehand usually results in a slightly skewed alignment, so I bring out my most used stamps from Stampin' Up! - FRENCH FOLIAGE - and cover the join with a splotch! It is very Vintage and combined with some sponging around the edges makes for another interesting part of the card.
I love the PINKING HEARTS BORDER punch and find myself using it quite often with the rosettes. The tiny pattern really lends itself to the concertina folding. Once again I used some paper from the gorgeous MOCHA MORNING Specialty Designer Paper.

The Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and Bravo Burgundy card make the scalloped details on the background. Some stamped Off collage stamping helps create a Vintage feel to this card.
It's always great fun and a challenge to combine different stamp sets and techniques - I think this is what keeps it interesting and helps to develop new ideas for future cards. Sometimes they work really well - other times - well I'm sure we've all had some of those "other times". I hope this card has got you thinking, so
I have some rather interesting craft for you today - A very good friend of mine introduced me to these stamps, and as I love Christmas everything, and I was attracted to this lovely angel image, I thought I'd have a go at something different.
This is what I ended up with ....
I am rather pleased with the end result - it evolved due to a very strange happening.
Would you believe that the only inks I used on this card were EARLY ESPRESSO and SOFT SUEDE classic ink from Stampin' Up!
So where does the pink come from you ask. It comes from using an AQUA PAINTER with water in it to pick up some ink from the top of the ink pad and lay it on the VANILLA CARD STOCK. I knew from my colour theory training that browns were made up of pink and green tones (yes Complimentaries = neutrals when mixed together) but I was surprised to see such a delightful dusty pink emerge on the paper.
The same effect happened when I coloured the VANILLA SEAM BINDING used to create this flower. This time I simply added water to ink pressed onto the lid of the ink pad and slushed the seam binding in it. Love, love love the antique effects, and thrilled that similar colours emerged to those on paper. Can you see the green tinges too? I made the flower by winding the seam binding around the brad and attaching it to the back of the brad with MINI GLUE DOTS.
HINT: Seam Binding looks perfect all crumpled up - to achieve this look you simply scrunch it up and allow it to dry after dying with your selected colour.
Going for an antique look means lots of texture too. I used my MUSIC NOTES STAMPIN' AROUND WHEEL to freehand across a piece of Vanilla card then I stamped the Post Card image over the top before attacking it with the AQUA PAINTER. Just a little water along the edges of the Post Card image gives the illusion of depth. After this was dry, I dry embossed that section with the FINIAL PRESS embossing folder from Stampin' Up!
The Post Card image in the middle ground is stamped using SOFT SUEDE ink on a separate piece of vanilla card, and the angel has been fussy cut and raised on dimensionals. She is stamped using EARLY ESPRESSO. Sponging, tearing and distressing the edges helped give me the effect I was after.
The final touches were soft gold (CHAMPAGNE MIST) Shimmer Paint highlights added with a fine paintbrush to the wings, hair and holly. I also sprayed the top background area with Champagne Simmer Mist.

This card has been rumbling around in my head for a couple of days and finally decided to emerge tonight. I had a friend around doing a scrap page, but I was on a mission to get this done and posted as I wanted to enter the Triplicate Trials Tuesday Challenge 10.
The Challenge this week is right up my alley! I've always loved to sew - I started making my own clothes without patterns when I was about 9 years old and have sewn ever since. I wouldn't call myself the most fashionable person around, but that doesn't take away from the joy of it all. And I have 3 very fashion conscious daughters who have taught me a thing or two over the years!

I retrieved 3 stamp sets to get started on this card, but ended up using just one: the gorgeous ESTABLISHED ELEGANCE from Stampin' Up! Soft Suede was the closest colour ink I could find to Khaki, and Night of Navy was perfect to go with this.
Recently a friend gave me some wonderfully light fibrous paper that I sewed with the machine, onto some pre-inked, dry embossed white card. I really like how the texture from the embossed card shows through this. I stamped directly onto this with Navy and Suede creating a collage of things that remind me of fashion.
Many of my cards seem to have a vintage feel lately, so this large brad from the VINTAGE BRADS Collection is a perfect embellishment.
Don't you just love the crown image? I stamped this plus plenty of other small images from the set onto the "background" card prior to sponging around the edges in both Suede and Navy.
Of course you can't be sewing without pins and as I had some with blue beads on top I decided they would make a great embellishment for this card. I scrunched some CRUMB CAKE SEAM BINDING ribbon, tied it in a bow and placed the pins through it. Everything is mounted onto NIGHT OF NAVY TEXTURED CARD (available in 12 x 12 inch size)
