Merriest Moments meets Whimsical Wonder Designer Series Paper

I am enjoying the Merriest Moments Bundle so much.

As I mentioned in a previous post, it is very versatile so today I have an easy card that uses the Merriest Frames dies and hybrid embossing folder with a lovely pattern from the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper pack.

The card has a vintage look because of the colours I used - white, silver and Blushing Bride.

The snowflake embellishments are from the So Many Snowflakes die set in the Annual Catalogue.

Layering the different elements of the card is easily done with Dimensionals. This creates visual interest. These elements would look great with a variety of DSP backgrounds, so give it a try.😄

The Merriest Moments bundle from Stampin' Up!® is perfect for a variety of Christmas cards. The bundle (#156783) includes a stamp set - Merriest Moments plus the Merriest Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder.

I created these cards using lots of the elements from the bundle.

The first card has some foliage stamped and stamped off onto the card background, prior to adding an embossed  die cut from the Merriest Frames collection. Colours are Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. The Gold Leaf has been applied by using a Blender Pen with Versa Mark , then adding Heat & Stick powder, some heat then applying Gold Leaf. I really like this method of adding some gold to the project, as it gives you some control as to where the gold Leaf will appear.

The bundle consists of these items:

Another card using the same colours but slightly different layout.

A tip for colouring your rhinestones:
Just use the regular Rhinestone Basic Jewels # 144220 and your choice of Blender Pen to colour them to match your project. I've used Dark Cherry Cobbler for my project. I suggest that you use the Dark pen for any colour.

I'll be making lots of Christmas cards between now and Christmas, so come back often to see some ideas.

Merriest Moments Random Patchwork background card

I'm  enjoying the Random Patchwork background technique so much that I tried it out with some very different papers and the Merriest Moments stamp set and dies bundle.  This is the finished card.

  Images copyright Stampin' Up!® 1990 -2022

The papers I used for this card are from a gorgeous, richly coloured pack named Blackberry Beauty
The colours in these papers are: Polished Pink, Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso, Cinnamon Cider and gold.

This photo shows the patchwork in the background.
For the simplest version of this background start with 4 different patterns of DSP cut to 10 x 14 cm. Layer these papers on top of each other and using your Stampin' Trimmer, cut 4 diagonal cuts in the papers. This will ensure that each cut is the same on all 4 pieces and you'll be able to create 4 slightly different backgrounds.

Adhere the rearranged shapes onto a piece of basic white card, butting each shape together.

You can use more cuts if you want a more intricate background.

Choose a frame die to cut out the background. I've used the very versatile Scalloped Contours die set. I love the variety in this set and I used the second largest die that has a lovely scalloped edge with the added bonus of stitching detail.

The lovely gold flowers have been stamped and heat embossed with gold. The images are from the Merriest Moments Bundle. I stamped them on Blackberry Bliss card stock and highlighted the centres with gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots
The flowers are raised  with dimensionals.
Again, using this technique you will have 4 slightly different backgrounds to create 4 cards.

Black & White- Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop

Today in the Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop we are showing how striking the use of Black & White can be in your crafting projects. It can be stamped, die cut, Designer Series Papers combinations or hand drawn images - they all look beautiful.

I've chosen to work with the Merriest Moments Bundle from the July - December Mini Catalogue. You can find the bundle on p.43 or you can view it on my website

Here is my card - an unusual take on Christmas, but I love it.

Notice the embossed background. This bundle is special as it comes with a Hybrid Embossing Folder that includes an embossing folder plus dies.

I've used the embossing folder without the coordinating die, but have used the dies that coordinate with the stamped images.

The die that cuts out space for a greeting has  lovely stitched detail and the flowers and foliage dies cut beautifully.

You can see some of the embossed detail in the background of this photo. It's always a good idea to soften your paper a little before using the 3D embossing folders. I spritzed my paper, but you can also just slide it over the edge of a table or another smooth object to soften the fibers.

There is a stamp for the centre of the flowers but because this is a Christmas card, and to me Christmas needs some bling, I needed some black jewels to create some interest points. I took out my Dark Black Blend and coloured some of the Basic Rhinestone Jewels. This is an economical way of creating any colour jewel. You simply apply the colour with the brush tip of the Blend and you can create matching jewels for all your projects.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my take on the Black & White  project topic. I will have a list of products used at the end of the post and you can shop for any of them by clicking on the image.

Meanwhile take a look at some other wonderful ideas and enjoy creating your own versions in Black & White.
