FRESHLY BREWED PROJECTS CUTE CHRISTMAS

 Christmas is not far off now and for the next few blog hops we will be focusing on giving you ideas for your cards. Today's Freshly Brewed Blog Hop will show you some Cute Christmas card ideas.

I've chosen to use a Beachy Christmas theme, as that is where I plan on spending my Christmas and Summer holidays. My grandchildren tell me they will be spending 4 - 6 weeks with me at our beach house, so that will be lots of fun. 

For my card today I've combined the cute Mermaid from Pirates & Mermaids stamp set on page 58 of the Annual Catalogue with some die cut starfish from Friends Are Like Seashells (p. 27 AC), holly and berries from Happy Holly-Days (p. 27 in the July - December Mini Catalogue) and Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper ( p.25 in the July - December Mini Catalogue)

I had so much fun colouring the images using my Stampin' Blends. I like to use a variety of colours and for this card I used: Polished Pink (light & dark), Daffodil Delight (dark), Soft Suede (light), Soft Succulent (light & dark), Ivory, Petal Pink (dark) and Seaside Spray (light)

 A technique I love to use is layering of the elements using dimensionals. Stampin' Up! has Dimensionals in 2 sizes and both sizes come in either Black or White

You can see that I've used 4 different stamp sets for this project. I like to combine different images to try to create something really unique. I hope you enjoy this card.

The Merriest Moments bundle from Stampin' Up!® is perfect for a variety of Christmas cards. The bundle (#156783) includes a stamp set - Merriest Moments plus the Merriest Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder.

I created these cards using lots of the elements from the bundle.

The first card has some foliage stamped and stamped off onto the card background, prior to adding an embossed  die cut from the Merriest Frames collection. Colours are Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. The Gold Leaf has been applied by using a Blender Pen with Versa Mark , then adding Heat & Stick powder, some heat then applying Gold Leaf. I really like this method of adding some gold to the project, as it gives you some control as to where the gold Leaf will appear.

A tip for colouring your rhinestones:

Just use the regular Rhinestone Basic Jewels # 144220 and your choice of Blender Pen to colour them to match your project. I've used Dark Cherry Cobbler for my project. I suggest that you use the Dark pen for any colour.

Beautiful Baubles Card for Christmas

There are so many gorgeous Christmas stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue, that I'm finding it hard to know which one to use. For a recent class I chose the Beautiful Baubles set because although we don't have a winter Christmas we do still decorate trees. 

I kept the card design simple as I wanted the class to focus on practising their colouring with Stampin' Blends.

 The coordinating Detailed Baubles Thinlit Dies create the pretty surround for the bauble that has been stamped in Memento Black Ink. Lots of different colour combinations were chosen by the class participants - here are a couple of other examples of cards made.

The small greeting from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set is perfect for this design and we added a little foliage created with the Sprig Punch (also available in the Holiday Catalogue)

The Silver Glimmer Paper behind the bauble is carried through to star embellishments (Santa's Signpost Framelits Dies) and a banner behind the greeting, and although it is difficult to see in these photos - the baubles have been detailed with Wink Of Stella.

I'm sure you can think of many beautiful colour combinations and some creative designs to use this stamp set. It is timeless and will be very useful for a long time.
